Question:

I think my friend has an eating disorder, she looks as if she has lost alot of weight,according to another friend of ours she weighs 8 stone and she is 5`7".i have expressed my concernes but she insists its just a diet to lose a bit of weight,if i was to write to her doctor would this make them aware of her situation, would they give her an appointment.would this be acceptable.

Answer:

There is no way to determine how a doctor's office will respond to a written inquiry of this sort.  You are always free to provide information, but it is a one-way street.  They cannot respond in kind.
