Vein burst07/06/2007 |
I was walking my dogs and felt something, looked down, and on the back of my right outer calf a sudden black and blue mark the size of a tennis ball, really hurting and bluging outward. I had been having a bad headache, almost a migrane all day. Is it related and should I be worried?.. I`ve had both hips replaced and the leg in question doesn`t have varicose veins. Thanks.
In general I would not associated a discoloration on the leg with a migraine. You may have venous insufficiency which is the underlying issue with varicose veins and can appear sometimes as a bluish color on various parts of the legs. Ask your primary care physician to order a venous reflux study which can evaluate the venous valves.
