Swollen body after amputation07/05/2007 |
About two weeks ago my brother had both legs amputated above the knee. Since then he seems to be slowly swelling up and his right arm is almost triple its normal size. Is swelling of the body a post surgery issue?
There can be some swelling after any major surgery, but usually this resolves within a few weeks. If the swelling is getting worse, then consultation with a physician should be the next step.
