Mole removal07/17/2007 |
I have been having a raised mole about the size of a pencil eraser on my outer labia, near my vagina, since I was born. I want to get it removed, but will its location be a problem? I`m embarassed about it and wanted to ask it here to make sure before I even attempted to make an appointment. Thank you.
The location is usually not a problem for removal in most cases. It depends on the specific area (on the margin of two anatomic units) and the physician. Sometimes scarring can lead to discomfort. Do not hesitate to ask your gynecologist or plastic surgeon if it can be removed. They may or may not feel comfortable removing for scarring or cosmetic reasons.
