Natural menopause after surgical menopause07/30/2007 |
Is is possible to go through "natural menopause" at age 50 after going through surgical menopause when i was around 25. I had both ovaries removed after my hysterectomy when I was in my 20`s and obviously went through surgical menopause at that time. I have been on HRT for 25 years. However, I`m beginning to have menopause symptoms at age 50. Is it possible to now go through natural menopause after going through surgical menopause at an earlier age?
No, it is not possible to go through natural menopause after going through surgical menopause. However, you may experience symptoms of menopause whenever you lower your hormone therapy dose. It will take your body time to adjust to the lower level of estrogen each time you lower the dose.
