Myasthenia Gravis

My hand shakes when writing

07/12/2007

Question:

I HAVE A PROBLEM, I HAVE NOTICED THAT FOR THE PAST EIGHT MONTHS, I EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTIES IN WRITING AS MY RIGHT HAND SHAKES UNCONTROLLEABLLY. I HAVE GONE TO THE HOSPITALS, UNDERWENT SERIES OF TESTS FOR ELECTROLYSIS, XRAY ETC BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN FOUND AND I HAVE BEEN ON DICLOFENAC, NEUROBION AND NORFLEX YET NO REASONABLE IMPROVEMENT. WHAT IS THE WAY OUT? ITS EMBARASSING TO ME AND I NEED HELP

Answer:

You could have an action tremor in that right arm, a condition that is completely unrelated to your myasthenia gravis. You should talk to your neurologist who treats you for your myasthenia.
