Is this end stage pulmonary hypertension, the mean pressure is >80. What can we expect going forward, how long do these patients usually live? Do they usually require hospitalization or can they remain home for the most part ?
I would call a mean pulmonary artery pressure of greater than 80 severe pulmonary hypertension. I do not like to call the patient end stage unless they have failed treatment. You do not describe the circumstances - Is this the patient's only problem? Has the patient been treated? Without knowing more, I cannot answer the last half of you questions. How long the patient will live depends on how they respond to treatment.
