Genetic Link to Brain Tumors08/03/2007 |
Is there any research to support or dispel genetic family links for the likelihood of brain tumors? Two, opposite sex, family members have lost their lives to the same type of stage 4 tumors.
It is difficult to know without knowing more specific information about the types of brain tumors and whether or not there are other cancers in the family. Brain tumors can certainly be part of hereditary cancer syndromes, but more information is necessary to determine whether or not this is likely.
