What Does "Soft Bones" Indicate?
My sister has been told she has "soft bones." What is this condition and how does it come about?
Your sister should ask the person who told her that what was meant by the term and why they think she has it. Sometimes the term is used to mean that the bone structure did not mineralize properly so that it is truly softer than normal bone. There can be numerous causes including vitamin D deficiency, fluoride toxicity, liver disease, kidney disease and many other conditions.
