Arthritis and Rheumatism

Big toe pain

08/15/2007

Question:

I just walked across the parking lot this morning and I got this realy intense pain in my instep by my big toe. It felt like something was tearing or the tendon got stuck. Boy that is painful. Every step I took it felt like it was tearing and tearing. I still have some pain in it but not as bad as it was. I have both RA and OA in my feet. The weather is bad too today, rain and foggy. Should I get this checked out or could it be my RA or OA?

Answer:

Although it could be a manifestation of your RA and/or OA it would still be a good idea to have it checked out especially if the discomfort continues or gets worse. I would suggest you see your podiatrist, orthopedists or rheumatologist.
