Left Brain Atrophy
My mother, age 61, just had an MRI due to some hearing loss in her left ear, which may be connected to bone loss in her jaw. In her MRI she was told that there is atrophy in her left brain. I read a few of the articles posted and although they are helpful I don`t know whether this is the frontal, temporal, or parietal lobe being affected. What functioning might be effected by the atrophy in the left brain? And is this a precursor or symptom of Alzheimer`s or Dementia?
She needs to see a specialist in cognitive neurology.
