74 YR OLD WOMAN DIABETIC ON INSULIN,GOING TO KIDNEY DIALYSIS,HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE,HEART PROBLEMS TOOK 5 100MGS SYNTHROID PILLS AT MORNING WOULD THERE BE SIDE EFFECTS THAT SAME DAY OR WOULD IT TAKE TIME CALLED POISON CONTROL NO EMERGENCY
That one is a very tough call. Depends, in part on what she has in the way of coronary disease - with the combination of risk factors listed, there is a high likelihood that she does have some coronary insufficiency (limited reserve to raise coronary blood flood if the situation should turn urgent). There are many factors to take into account which are not laid out in this description: under some circumstances I would hospitalize her and under other circumstances I would let her remain at home and keep in touch with her. It is important to make sure that her kidney and/or primary care doctor find out promptly that this happened so that they can make a judgement which way to go.
