How to trace a blood clot
how do i trace a pathway of a blood clot from the leg to the lung.
Blood clots in the leg usually start in the femoral vein or iliac vein and then travel through the inferior vena cava, through the right atrium of the heart, through the right ventricle of the heart, and then into the pulmonary arteries, which are the blood vessels in the lung. In the leg, the clot is called a "deep venous thrombosis" and once it breaks loose and travels to the lung, it is called a "pulmonary embolism".
