Pain Management

Upper Abdominal Pain

09/11/2007

Question:

I have a dull constant pain in my upper left quadrant. sometimes it spreads to my left side. when I stand up it seems to help decrease the pain. After I eat the pain seems to come back. Any ideas. I am going to go to the doctor but would like some ideas of what the problem could be before I go. Thanks

Answer:

It looks like it is more related to meals. A GI specialist would be a good start to rule out any related problems to the stomach or pancreas.
