Efficacy of medication09/18/2007 |
My Dr. has told me that certain blood pressure medications (hytrin, cardura) are just as effective for improving urine flow as mediction specifically designed to do this (flomax.) He says the difference is in the side effects. Are these meds truly equal in efficacy? Thank you.
The American Urological Association guidelines have specified that all of the alpha blockers that you mention have equal efficacy. The side effect profile is distinctly different. The specific medication should be determined with you and your physician.
