Allergies

Rashes all over body

09/26/2007

Question:

for past many months i have noticed rashes coming and going over my body. Red patches are seen at place where neck meets the shoulders, anywhere on my chest, stomach or back areas, The patches can be seen either in any of these places or in combination. sometime the patches are big and cover bigger areas, sometime over smaller area. It does not itch or cause any discomfort that i can feel. While on my hands and sometime legs, rashes are in form of small eruptions over small area, or something like a welts.

My skin is sensitive and i am allergic to shell fishes (breathlessness). I also have extremely dry and cracked feets n heels and dry hands. occasionally, my ear becomes hot n red.

Please advice

Answer:

These rashes could represent any number of things including hives, eczema and/or excessive dry skin.  From this history it would be impossible to tell you precisely what is occurring.  I recommend you should see an allergist who is experienced in allergic skin diseases for further history and evaluation.
