What does it mean when the stomach is behind the rib cage and the doctors can`t put the peg tube?
It means that anatomically the stomach is in a position that does not make it easy to put in a PEG tube in the standard way. This can happen if people have had surgeries on their abdomen. In order to place the PEG tube, either a radiologist or a surgeon may need to do it.
