Pulmonary Fibrosis |
Pulmonary fibrosis10/15/2007 |
My mother has just been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. I am looking for information on whether or not it is beneficial to clean the house from top to bottom in case a inhalant of some such exists.
There are many causes of pulmonary fibrosis. The first step is to determine which type of pulmonary fibrosis she has. If it is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (the most common cause), then cleaning the house will not help since the cause of the fibrosis is unknown. If she has hypersensitivity pneumonitis, then there could potentially be something in the home environment that can cause it. The first step is to check with her pulmonologist to clarify what kind of interstitial lung disease she has.
