Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, Implants

My son just had crowns put in

10/15/2007

Question:

my 5 year old just had several crowns put in this weekend and the gum just around the crowns are white... is this normal?

Answer:

I would recommend an examination by a pedodontist (pediatric dentist). It may be just minor trauma from the procedure; however, it is not considered healthy, and it would not hurt to get a second look. Usually white gums indicate excessive pressure on the tissue. If you press on your own gums, do you get a similar appearance?
