Curing blue light and eye protection10/26/2007 |
What kind of eye protection specifically is needed for patients when large blue curing lights are used to bond braces on teeth? Is there agreement in the dental field on the specifics of how to protect the eyes or various ways of preventing eye injuries/exposure? Or is this a non-issue? My child is getting braces and I noticed they used dark glasses on her but they were not tinted orange. Are they supposed to be a specific kind/color? Your opinion/experience appreciated. THANKS!
To my knowledge, regular sunglasses are enough to block the ultraviolet rays the curing light emits.
