Facial redness after excercise (children)11/20/2007 |
My son is a very healthy 9 year old who trains one night per week and plays a soccer match every Saturday morning. His face gets very red as soon as he starts to run about and although he suffers no discomfort from it I would like to know is it dangerous. The climate is not a factor as the redness has occurred during warm and cold weather.
While exercising, your body is producing heat. One of the ways your body rids itself of heat is by increasing blood flow to your skin's surface so that heat can be radiated off. This usually lasts for a short period of time after or during exercise.
If symptoms increase or worsen, I would suggest you consult your family physician.
