Dental and Oral Health (Children)

Crown lengthening in children age 10 to 12 .

Can crown lengthening be performed in 10 to 12 year old children with trauma to the lower incisors, what about the biological width in such cases?

Crown lengthening may be a viable option for fractured incisors in 10 - 12 year olds, but available biologic width can be a concern. Other options include orthodontic extrusion or conservative electrosurgical gingivectomy. A second opinion from a periodontist (specialist in diseases of the gums) is warranted.
