I have had high platelets for over three years. Is there any medications or diseases that would causes a contant high platelets?
While there is a rare blood disorder that can cause a high platelet count, many other more common things such as iron deficiency and acute inflammation and stress that can do this as well. It depends on a lot of factors and lab tests to differentiate these differing causes. I would recommend asking your doctor about these issues and questions to help get you more information on the cause of your high platelet count.
