Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, Implants

Implants or dentures

11/06/2007 12:48PM

Question:

I`m 53 & had a bridge, 2 teeth on bottom lt & 2 teeth on bottom rt removed. 6 teeth remain in front. A partial was made, but my dentist has a hard time fitting it. Went to a specialist hoping he could do better but instead took xrays/impressions, then told me my option was remove remaining 6 teeth, cuz they were not healthy & had short roots, & put a full bottom denture. I`d rather keep them (their not decayed or loose)& work w/fitting the partial. Because I have a sm mouth w/narrow gums & some bone loss is dentures my only option? I`ll check w/my orig dentist but would like your opinion too!! Could I have a bone graft w/implants done? Am getting very discouraged. Thanks for any help or advise.

Answer:

A clinical exam by a prosthodontist who has had considerable experience with dental implants is needed to answer your questions.
