Dying from Alzheimer's11/09/2007 |
Do people die straight from Alzheimer`s disease, or are there other reasons along with it?
People typically do not die directly from Alzheimer's disease but rather from indirect consequences, such as pneumonia caused by difficulty swallowing, other infections related to malnutrition due to inability to eat, or urinary tract infections that progress to affect the whole body due to inability to communicate symptoms, or infections from bedsores. Those can become common at the very end stage of the disease.
