Thyroid, Lymph node11/13/2007 |
My doctor says that I have an enlarged thyroid and reactive lymph nodes. Should I be concerned?
Your doctor or an endocrine specialist should be able to tell you why the thyroid is enlarged. This often requires blood tests, a thyroid ultasound and possibly a needle biopsy. Lymph nodes, although can be reactive to a recent infection usually are not reactive to an enlarged thyroid and also may need to be biopsied.
