High blood pressure12/12/2007 |
My husband is 51 his blood pressure was 204/110, the dr put him on medicine now he is extremely tired and his blood pressure now is reading 114/67 his pulse rate is 94 should I be concerned?thank you
To go from a blood pressure of 204/110 to 114/67 in a short time may be too much of a good thing. Although your doctor is right that high blood pressure requires treatment, it may be enough to treat down to a level of 140/90 for a while, before adding more medication. In the long run, the ideal blood pressure for most people is around 120/80.
Your husband's doctor may want to consider decreasing the number or doses of his medication. Your husband may want to discuss this option with his doctor.
