Tacrolimus / prograf12/17/2007 |
I read that they are doing phase 3 trials for Tacrolimus for the treatment of MG in Japan. Do they have any trials in the USA for this drug, or are any planned? Have you heard of any Neuros in the US prescribing this to their MG patients? Since it is in phase 3 of the trial, does that mean that this drug has been quite effective for the treatment of MG in past studies?
I am not aware of any large studies on Tacrolimus for the treatment of MG; however, there may be small studies being done. You can find more information on clinical trials by going to http://www.clinicaltrials.gov.Tacrolimus has been used to treat severe MG that has been unresponsive to other immunosuppressant medications.
