How long do you have to be smoke free before you can be placed on the lung transplant list?
Depending on the transplant program, there is some variation in the minimum required time to be abstinent from all tobacco and nicotine products. The usual interval is between 6 -12 months with many programs requiring a time at the lower end of this range.
