Urinary Disorders

Precum and prostatitis

01/02/2008

Question:

I am 45 years old single male. I am very much concerned about the amount of precum I have. It spots my underwear and can wet my pants. I used to masterbate excessively years ago and I had this complaint since then. Does this excessive precum have any association with prostatitis?

I am also concerned whether prostatitis can lead to abscess formation because I had many abscess in my left axilla last February which recurred in July with 9 abscess in my left axilla and now I have another 1 in my right axilla now. I consulted 3 dermatologists and I had investigations done, CBC, blood sugar, all came normal. If prostatitis does not cause this..what should I do?

Answer:

The tern percum is not a precise medical term and so I assume that you have a stain in your underwear that looks like semen. If you have had this most of your life I think it is normal for you and as such is not a disease. A discharge in your underwear is not a symptom of prostatitis. A patient with prostatis very occasionally will develop a prostatic abcess, but usually only in men who also have a decrease in their immune system. A prostatic abcess is ususlly unrelated to abcesses outside a man`s pelvis.
