Post amputation complications

a k amputation due to ied blast in iraq. what causes fluid build up between bone and muscle in stump? and how do we fix this?

The most common reason for a fluid build-up between the bone and the muscle is called a bursa sac. You should check with your physician to make sure that this is the cause of your fluid build-up. Your body has created the fluid filled bursa to decrease the friction between the bone and muscle. Depending on the cause of the bursa (since there are also other causes), sometimes a revision of the amputation stump can correct the problem.

You should seek the assistance of a surgeon experienced in amputation surgery to help you find the treatment that will work best in your situation.
