Loses baby tooth, still waiting adult - how?11/28/2007 |
My 7 year old lost top two teeth within 2weeks of each other. One is in already(it was already showing when the baby tooth fell out) the other still no sign of tooth. I know the tooth "was" visible on 6year check-up on x-ray. It has been 1 month since loss of tooth and still nothing. Don`t they usually come in in pairs? Every baby tooth he lost was "pushed" out by the adult tooth. I am concerned why it isn`t erupting yet?
Your son's eruption sequence is quite normal. Sometimes it takes several months for a permanent tooth to erupt after the primary (baby) tooth is lost. Contact your dentist for another check if the tooth isn't visible within three months.
