Mouth Diseases

Painless nodule under tongue

12/03/2007

Question:

I have a small, painless nodule under the tongue where it meets the floor of the mouth (at the bottom of the membrane attaching the two). After reading all the cancer postings, I`m afraid. Anyone can help?

Answer:

This could be any one of a number of conditions, most of which are harmless. You should see an oral surgeon for evaluation. A biopsy might be recommended in order to make sure that this is nothing serious.
