Arm Pain and Numbness01/04/2008 |
For about a month now my left arm has been falling asleep and the pain is getting worse, it happens when I am driving or sitting down in a chair watching TV, the worst is waking up in the middle of the night to severe numbness and tingling in my arm and fingers, when I wake up in the morning my fingers feel like they are very swollen and I can't bend them, the pain gets worse every day, it is even going up into the left side of my shoulder, any ideas what is causing this?
The pathology may be in the cervical spine. You need to contact you primary care physician immediately. You may need to have a cervical MRI and upper extremity EMG.
