How to spit up phlegm01/14/2008 |
I do have a lot of phlegm when I cough but cannot bring it up. I know it`s important but try as I may I can`t. Could you please give me some help on how to do so?
Drinking plenty of water is sometimes thought to be helpful in thinning the secretions and coughing up secretions easier. However, there are other respiratory devices such as the "Flutter Valve" or "Acapella" that are available for purchase with a prescription through the pharmacy. These are vibratory devices transmitting positive expiratory pressure that help clear the respiratory tract of mucus.
