Foul Smelling urine01/14/2008 09:49AM |
I`m 35 yrs. old, and I noticed after I had my last baby 3 yrs. ago by c-section I noticed my urine had a very strong odor of like amonia.Even after I flush the odor lingers in the restroom. When I have to use a public bathroom I feel embarrest because of the strong foul smell. What could be the cause?
Normally, the urine smell is due to ammonia but is not that strong as you know. A strong odor indicates infection, alkaline urine or high concentration of ammonia due to lack of enough water.Urine should be checked for infection. You can increase your water intake and add acidifying substances such as cranberry juice etc.
