Cilostazol for stroke prevention01/24/2008 |
My doctor suggested I take the drug Cilostazol as a prevention of blood clots and therefore stroke. Evedently this drug has just been approved bythe FDA for this usage. I am hesitant to take it as it can have severe side effects. Would this drug be beneficial for stroke prevention? I have had some mini strokes that had no symptoms and showed up on an MRI. Thank you
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with this drug and have never used it. However, there are several other drugs that we routinly use to prevent stroke. They are FDA-approved and recommended by the American Stroke Association.
