Scar tissue removal before an implant01/28/2008 |
My oral surgeon plans to remove scar tissue in my gum to prepare the site for an implant. Is this required for a successful implant? He says the scarring was most likely caused by root canal. How can this be if root canals do not impact the gum?
You have provided insufficient information to answer the question. Is the scar tissue located in the bone or on top of gum tissue? The need for the removal of scar tissue depends upon the amount of scar tissue and where it is located.
