Is Bleeding and Soreness After Radiation Normal?01/25/2008 |
My husband had prostate cancer surgery followed by radiation in January, 2005. He still suffers from occasional bleeding from the rectum and soreness especially when he has a bowel movement. Is this common? His Urologist says yes.
The symptoms your husband is having are common side effects after radiation. These can often be bothersome and distressing. I would recommend speaking with your radiation oncologist and internist as they may want to make sure no further evaluation is indicated.
