Bruising of foot bone
I have a bruised metatarsal in my left foot, does soaking the foot with epson salts help at all?
Many individuals like the proposed effect of swelling reduction that Epsom salt may or may not aid with. More importantly you want to look back at the activities that caused the bruising/discomfort in your metatarsal.
Additional history questions you want to be able to answer are:
- Change in activity?
- Change in footwear?
- Radiating pain?
- Tender on the bone in one spot?
- Any previous history of injury to that area?
- How long has it been painful?
Once you have gathered this information, you should consult your physician to see if he/she would like you to take additional steps (xray, anti-inflammatory medication etc.).
I hope this is helpful and you are back to normal activity soon.
