Anti-inflamatory for thrombocytopenia01/29/2008 |
Is there an anti-inflamatory over the counter drug that does not affect blood clotting for people with thrombocytopenia? [platelets about 40 K] Acetominaphen is ok for pain but does not address inflammation like other NSAIDs, Issues include severe water on the knee and arthritis.
Unfortunately there are no anti-inflammatory medications that do not affect platelet function. Depending on the circumstances of you situation, you can sometimes still take them for only a short/limited period of time under your doctors supervision, but not for extended periods of time.
