I was wondering if there is a link of prior drug use such as cocaine (light user) and marijuana (heavy user) and secondary erectile dysfunction which I am experiencing now? Since the first time my problem occured, it has taken over me everytime I am about to have sex. I get erect, but loose it when it is time to perform. Could this be more of a psychological effect or is my history in substance usage and actual cigarette usage affecting my problem?
We know that substance use and abuse affect both fertility and sexual dysfunction in men. Probably smoking is one of the most common causes of erectile dysfunction. Marijuana affects fertility and cocaine abuse has similar effect.Psychological causes, especially performance anxiety, also plays a role in people who have addictions.
