I was diagnosed with Staph Infection in my Pee. I am told this is very rare. I am also told that being a Diabetic I will be very prone to get this again. Am I putting myself at great risk if I work in a hospital and handle bio hazard trash all day.
Your occupation may both put you at greater risk of getting an infection like that and may also increase the risk of your passing the infection on, if it is an unusually resistant organism. It may also increase the likelihood that you could have a false positive urine test. It is important for your health care provider know your occupation, that the hospital's infection control officer be alerted to your result and that the two be in touch to determine whether any precautions are necessary for both your protection and the protection of others.
