Sore breast

02/27/2008

Question:

i am 18 and have been off and on depo for about 3 years, i have not had the shot since late august (6 months ago), and i have had 2 normal periods since then... im not sure how long my cycles are, my last cycle lasted 40 days. i am on day 20 of my cycle and my breast have been realy sore since yesturday. is this normal, i know i probley have hormonal changes going on but i wanted to be sure this was normal,

Answer:

Often times it takes a year or so to get your hormonal pattern back after using Depo. It isn't dangerous, just in some cases annoying, as it makes your menstrual period unpredictable. You may find that your breasts become sore when you are ovulating or if you are starting your menses. If the pain persists or it's only on one side, I would suggest seeing your provider.

Hope this helps.
