Premenstrual spotting

02/28/2008

Question:

I am 22 and am trying to concieve. For as long as i can remember i have experienced premenstrual spotting. It usually starts about 5-6 days before the first day of red blood. It starts extremely light yellowy/brown (2days) and gradually gets darker until my period. There is no pain (although i feel my period is coming) I also get breast tenderness. My periods are always regular (28-35 days) and i know when i ovulate as i get a dull ache in either left or right side. My doctor says this is normal and just the way my body reacts to my hormones. What is it and will it affect me trying to concieve?

Answer:

I do agree with your doctor. It seems like it's just the way your body works. I don't think it will affect your ability to conceive. I hope this helps.
