Getting Vitamin D from the Sun in the Winter03/27/2008 |
When the sun is shining would a person get enough Vitamin D in the winter if you were outdoors cross country skiing for several hours?
It is difficult to get adequate sun exposure in the winter if you are in the northern half of the United States. Usually there is not enough skin exposed and the sun is not high enough in the sky to have a beneficial effect even if the skin is exposed.
