Stress Ulcer03/06/2008 03:24PM |
I was diagnosed with stress ulcer, treated by Nexium, and my second endoscopy showed that there is no ulcer any more. When I`m trying to get rid from Nexium, I started experiencing "hungry pain", from which ulcer was started. During 5 months I`m taking Nexium. Please recommend not such strong medication or something to calm me, because the problem is oversecretory function in stomach. Thanks
Some individuals need chronic Nexium or similar therapy after they have had an ulcer to "calm" the acid down. Zantac or Pepcid may also be beneficial and "not as strong". Hopefully when they found your ulcer they checked for h. pylori because sometimes if that is not treated, "ulcer" symptoms will persist despite being on Nexium.
