Radical Prostatectomy and Immune System03/18/2008 |
I had a radical prostactectomy two years back (aged 50) and ever since I have been prone to influenza-type attacks. This past month it culminated in pneumonia. Is it possible this is from a reduced immune system as I never used to be so susceptible? I am otherwise very fit. (PSA scores all ok).
The only correct answer is no, having had a radical prostatectomy does not make most people more susceptible to flu.
