Bridge

03/12/2008

Question:

The detist put a bridge that leaves a gap between the teeth and the gum. I thought a bridge is supposed to fit tightly on the gum.

Answer:

The margins or edges of crowns are sometimes kept a millimeter away from the gums to make them easier to keep clean. An evaluation by a prosthodontist may help answer your questions.
