Brain stem abscess?03/14/2008 |
My son has an abscess in his brain stem. Could this result from dental proceedures? An implant 9 months ago or a crown repair that has not been finished? Currently he is being treated with antibiotics for 5 weeks to see if it is an infection.
I have found no incidence of the dental treatment that you have described causing an abscess in the brain stem. Usually, untreated oral infections have only localized consequences. Since you have not mentioned any oral cavity infections, it is very unlikely that the brain stem abscess has any connection to any dental treatment.
